Our story begins where all good stories do...a dive bar in Seattle, known as Ozzie's.

Love was in the air one night in July of 2018, and so was the smell of old mop water and stale beer. Mattie spotted Kenny from across the karaoke room, which wasn't hard since they were the two tallest people at the bar. Mattie was immediately excited by his height, handsome looks, and backwards hat.

Lucky for her, Kenny was with a few people she knew, so she signaled for one of the mutual friends to come over and asked to be introduced.

"You're tall, and you're tall -- you should talk!" our friend said as he pulled Mattie in next to Kenny.

And so we did until 2am. We made a date for the next day at Hattie's Hat in Ballard and here we are 7 years later.

We bought our first home together in 2023 and shortly after adopted our dog, Remi. Kenny proposed to Mattie in June 2024 in Naxos, Greece.
